Car tracker installed

So,
I have installed a tracker in my car in the event it gets stolen.
It is an old android phone with a hard wired charger fed directly from the car battery running mycartracks app.
It has a pay as you go sim from EE, which thanks to a Xmas promotion gives me 100mb a month allowance free with no obligation to top it up.
So it is hidden behind the dashboard doing two things:

Firstly and primarily it is a tracker, I can send it a text message with a code and then log in to the website and its current position will be displayed along with speed and direction.

Secondly it also logs all routes/journeys carried out in the car so in the event that I need to check if I was somewhere I have a record.
Yes I could buy a dedicated tracking system but I had sitting in a drawer not being used so I thought I'd try it out.

  1. This looks like an ideal system and simple system to help the self employed truck driver. Clients often want their delivery yesterday and the delivery driver bears major responsibility for ensuring everything goes well. If you are delayed, being able to say exactly where you are and when you will arrive helps smooth over potentially difficult customer service issues.
